Initial Zipper Pouch

Hello everyone,
today I tried my first sewing project with a zipper. To be honest, I've been a bit afraid of integrating a zipper into my projects - it seemed a little complicated - but I finally sewed together a pouch! With the help of this tutorial (easy to understand with step-to-step instructions), I managed to put together a zipper pouch and modified it by adding an initial (this pouch was for my friend actually).

Won't you try a zipper project, too?
It's easier than it appears to be! Personalize it by adding an initial like I did, or just add beads, bows, ruffles, tassels...there are endless options.

What do you think? Don't be afraid to try new things - more doors will pop up if you open your heart and mind to yet to be discovered territories.

Message Hearts Tutorial | Valentine's Day

Hello Lovebirds!
Today is THAT day again: Some love it, some hate it. Well, I honestly belong to the people who actually like Valentine's Day. (I don't have a boyfriend though...haha). Even so, I personally think that Valentine's Day is a day full of spreading and giving love, not only to your partner, but also to your friends. I'm one of those girls who likes to give rather than receive something, so I thought that maybe you feel the same, but doesn't know what exactly to give your friend or lover. That's why I prepared a lovely tutorial for you, so read on!
Just follow the steps down below:

Easy, right? It's also really quick to make and you can whip up a bunch of these message / conversation hearts in no time! My paper had already some words printed on it (I got the paper from Korea), but of course you could write down something on the outside too! The messages you put inside mustn't only contain some love confessions, but also coupons for a fun day with your friend. Or, you can insert a small candy or sweets inside - the possibilities are endless!

What about it? Aren't these little hearts just cute? You can use them as a letter or decorate your room with it. Whatever, I wish you all a happy Valentine's Day!

DIY: Fabric Tape Hairband

Yesterday, one of my dear friends celebrated her birthday!
A week ago, I was at a loss what to give her. I asked her and she said that anything would be fine as long as I craft it myself. Despite her hint, I wasn't sure what to do. Thus, she said that she would be delighted to receive a hairband. Knowing this and the fact that her favourite color is purple, I began to make one for her...see for yourself! :

1. Materials: 2 x Fabric Tape (different patterns), scissors, a needle, thread, elastic
2. Start by cutting your fabric tapes. I cut mine at 15,5".
3. Peel off the unnecessary side of the fabric tape.
4. Stick one end of the elastic to a farbic tape. Put the other fabric tape over that part.
5. It should look like this.
6. You can see both sides of the hairband, making it a "double-sided" one.
7. Secure the elastic by stitching the end together.
8. Now you're finished!

After I made this one, I tried another version. I crocheted flowers with purple wool and added an elastic.

Next, I folded a paper bag, put in some chocolates and the two hairbands and closed it with a sticker. To secure it further, I clipped on a mini clothespin.

What about it? Make a few hairbands for your friends next time - it didn't take me a long time to make these and they will be happy to receive something you crafted yourself!
